Transportation and Parking is an essential part of UNC-Chapel Hill and is responsible for coordinating all traffic, parking, and transportation around the University’s campus. The department strives to provide a high level of service to students, employees and visitors at the University and Hospitals.

The Tar Heel 10 Miler race will affect traffic on campus and in Chapel Hill the morning of Saturday, April 20. Impacts will include road closures and traffic diversions/detours.

Summer 2024 Student Parking Registration

Summer school parking registration for students opens on April 1 and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Transportation and Parking will be upgrading gate equipment and visitor access systems at the Dogwood Parking Deck March 25 through June 3.

The installation of a crane at the ITS Manning Parking Lot will require the periodic closure of Paul Hardin Drive and reduce Emergency Room Drive to one lane of traffic.
