President Barack Obama will visit UNC-Chapel Hill Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 2) to campaign for presidential candidate Secretary Hillary Clinton. The President will speak outside on the Michael Hooker Fields, located between Carmichael Arena and the School of Government off South Road.

Street Closures & Transit Detours

South Road will be closed to through traffic at 2:00 p.m. and reopen at 5:00 p.m.  Meters along South Road will be unavailable from 5:00 a.m. throughout the day.

Local and Regional transit services will be detoured during the event. Passengers should expect delays.

Public Parking

Parking is available for the public at Rams Head Deck and the S11 Manning lot at $5.00 per vehicle. The S11 Manning lot will be served by shuttle.

Public Disability Parking

Public Disability Parking is available at the Williamson lot at $5.00 per vehicle.

The S11 Williamson lot will be serviced by a shuttle from noon through the end of the event.  It will stop at Carmichael Driveway until 1:30 p.m.  After 1:30 p.m., when the event is in progress, the stop will move 200 feet down the street to Fetzer.

Transit & Park and Rides

Chapel Hill Transit provides local fare-free transit services to UNC campus. The Town of Chapel Hill has four Park and Rides at $2 per day. Transit is fare free and serves the UNC campus.

GoTriangle serves Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Fares are $4.50 round trip and free Park and Ride lots are available with routes serving UNC.
