General public parking is available on a first-come-first serve basis after 5 p.m. on weeknights & weekends in unreserved lots. On weeknights (5 p.m. – 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday), campus lots require a valid weeknight parking permit or $1 one-night temporary pass. Parking remains free in unreserved lots during weekend hours (beginning Friday at 5 p.m. through Monday at 7:30 a.m.)

Accessible parking is available on Paul Green Drive, the surface lot behind the theatre and in marked spots in the Cobb Deck.

Convenient parking is available at several nearby municipal and private parking decks, as well as over 430 metered spaces within a 10-minute walk of the Ackland Art Museum.

The Ackland’s front entrance is ramped, all bathrooms are accessible and an elevator serves all floors of the Museum.

Campus Accessibility

Pre-Paid Public Parking (reserved) available for purchase online in advance of the game. Purchase your parking and display phone or printed permit when entering the lot. Pre-paid public parking permits valid for one-time use and scanned at entry. Limit of one permit per transaction, license plate required for purchase. Purchases made with intent to resale may be cancelled and refunded prior to event. Parking permit price includes parking cost plus ParkMobile convenience fee and transaction fee.

Campus Parking

Please allow at least 30 minutes to find parking. The first choice may not be available, so be prepared with a second option. Credit, debit or ParkMobile where available (no cash).

Event Parking $5:

Nearby Weeknight Parking with ParkMobile (zone 4500) $1:

Visitors may park in any available designated weeknight parking lots using ParkMobile (zone 4500) or weeknight pay stations to obtain a $1 temporary one-night pass for weeknights.

Downtown Parking

Accessible parking is available for $5 in the Swain Lot located across from Memorial Hall. Golf cart shuttle transportation is provided to and from the front entrance of the hall. Accessible parking is also available in the Carolina Square Deck.

Silver Level donors and above at Carolina Performing Arts receive reserved parking spaces. To learn more about becoming a donor and the accompanying membership benefits, please contact Associate Director of Development Ketura Parker at 919-843-0516.

Enjoy downtown with the ease of valet parking at participating Franklin Street businesses. Valet stands are located on West Franklin Street for visitor convenience. View additional valet parking information.

The closest parking to the Morehead Planetarium is the Morehead Lot located directly in front of the Morehead Building. An hourly fee is required to park in the Morehead Lot and can be paid by cash or credit card. Overnight parking is not permitted in this lot. Additional parking for Morehead Planetarium visitors is available on Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill.

UNC-Chapel Hill reserves spaces in this lot for events, so parking is not always available. Please allow adequate time to find alternate parking. Questions concerning this parking lot can be directed to the Transportation and Parking office at 919-962-3951.

In addition to the Morehead Lot, visitors can find metered spaces on Franklin Street in downtown Chapel Hill.

Small buses may be able to park in the UNC-Chapel Hill lot, if space permits.

Standard buses are not permitted to park in the Morehead Lot, but may use this lot to drop off and pick up passengers. Buses may use off-site parking at the Dean Dome. If needed, Morehead will provide shuttle service so that bus drivers can be with their groups during on-site activities.
