Available Parking Permits

  • Student parking permits available for S11 and RR zones.
  • Students living off campus may purchase S11-Manning permits for a prorated based on date of purchase.
  • Students living in UNC Housing may purchase an RR lot permit.
  • UNC Employees may purchase permits for S11 zones.

Parkmobile

Parkmobile is now live at UNC Digital Meter Pay Stations! Use the ParkMobile app to pay remotely from a smartphone for parking at digital meter pay stations on campus.

Transportation

Service Changes

Chatham Transit (CT) ExpressPART Route 4GoTriangle and Chapel Hill Transit (CHT) have new schedules that take effect early August 2017.

CAP members may now receive $30 per month off vanpool fares! See a current list of vanpools coming to UNC.

Transloc Rider App

The Transloc Rider app offers real-time bus tracking, bus stop information and estimated arrival times, and a trip planner. This free app is available for iOS and Android, or there is a browser version at triangle.transloc.com.

Point-to-Point Updates

P2P has new fleet vehicles, including two 25-passenger shuttle buses, and three 40-passenger biodiesel buses.

P2P has also expanded its service, new options including an updated P2P Express Route, with stop service at Granville and a new Baity Hill route.

Bike

Tar Heel Bikes

Bike share is a convenient and cost effective way to bike on campus, while certified personnel keep the bicycle maintained.  Coming soon, 100 bikes will be located at stations throughout campus.

UNC students and employees may use their unc.edu email address to join the upcoming bike share program, Tar Heel Bikes.  Visitors may also utilize the program for daily use.

Cyclicious

Come celebrate bicycle transportation on Thursday, August 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pit. Come take part in:

  • Free bike checks
  • Free bike lights and gear
  • Bike registration with UNC Police
  • Bike safety trivia – win prizes!

Cyclicious encourages people to ride bikes more and drive less!

Events

Fallfest

Transportation and Parking will be at Fallfest! FallFest kicks off at 8:15pm on Sunday, August 20 at Hooker Fields and features student performances, student organizations activities fair, interactive exhibits and games, and plenty of free food and swag.

Football

Football event operations are in effect for all UNC home game this fall. For information on dates and game-day parking and transportation access, see Football Transportation and Parking.

Construction

Porthole Alley

The Porthole Alley steamline tunnel construction project will be beginning Phase III and continue through October 2017.

Fetzer/Navy Field

Fetzer and Navy Field areas will be under heavy construction throughout the fall semester.

Mary Ellen Jones Plaza

Construction of the elevated plaza that will connect the Mary Ellen Jones and Thurston Bowles buildings will continue through October 2017.
