Please read below for important transportation updates for the upcoming academic year (Aug. 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021).
Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) Options
- Park-and-Ride permit for local lots
- GoTriangle GoPass
- PART XPass (order online through PART)
- Carpool / Vanpool
- Chapel Hill Transit from home
- Bicycle / Walk from home
Please note Chatham Transit’s CT Express is currently suspended.
Transit Service Updates – effective Aug. 3
- Chapel Hill Transit – Revised maps and schedules for all routes.
- Park-and-Ride lots
- NC Hwy 54 Lot
- Renamed to “Friday Center South”
- S Route to provide direct bus service to Student Union by continuing straight on Raleigh Road
- Carrboro Plaza – discontinued
- Hedrick Lot – discontinued
- NC Hwy 54 Lot
- GoTriangle – Southpoint Mall bus stop relocation for Route 800/800S
- PART Express – Route 4 resumes Aug. 3
- Chatham Transit – Route suspended. Consider Southern Village Park-and-Ride for alternate service.
Adjustments for COVID-19
- Facial coverings required to ride transit – review all COVID-19 policies
- Chapel Hill Transit and Park-and-Ride impacts:
- Reduced weekday service – review updated routes
- CCX suspended, no service to Chatham County Park-and-Ride (ride NS route from Southern Village)
- JFX suspended for Jones Ferry Park-and-Ride (ride updated CM route)
- GoTriangle
- Fare collection suspended – follow updates
- GoPass eligibility expanded to include Chapel Hill/Carrboro residents served by GoTriangle
- UNC daily parking permit options available through Parkmobile in designated lots
