Cheryl Stout, Director of Transportation and Parking

In June, Director of Transportation and Parking, Cheryl Stout, was selected by her peers to receive an Employee Forum peer recognition award in the category of Big Buddy.

Nominated by Executive Assistant for Transportation and Parking, Mya Nguyen, Stout was recognized during a banquet on June 13 for her dedication in mentoring a fellow employee. In 2014, Cheryl assumed the role of director, having served as associate director for the previous 15 years. Her responsibilities include managing all traffic, parking, and transportation at the university.

“Cheryl believes in sharing knowledge and empowering employees across the board,” said Nguyen. “She leads by example and mentors others by explaining why and how she makes decisions. Cheryl is also willing to hear differing views, learn more and change her perspective, which is the mark of a true leader and mentor.”

As part of her role with the University, she has served on the University Master and Development Plan Committees as well as the Downtown Parking Task Force. Cheryl chairs the Advisory Committee on Transportation and Parking (ACT) and servers on the Finance and Operations Information Technology Advisory Committee (FOIT).
