Manning Drive Work Zone
Manning Drive Work Zone

The Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) provides water, sewer (wastewater) and reclaimed water services to campus. From June 2 through August 1, 2019, OWASA is undertaking an infrastructure project to replace the water distribution pipes from the intersection of Manning Drive and Ridge Road to the intersection of Manning Drive and Fordham Boulevard. This work will occur during evening hours — between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. — Sunday through Thursday, so traffic disruption to campus and UNC Hospitals will be minimal. During this work no water outages are planned, and traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.

From May 28 to May 31, surveying companies will work along Manning Drive near the Ridge Road intersection to perform utility identification prior to construction. This initial pre-construction work will occur during daytime hours, but traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times and minimal traffic impacts are expected.

If construction should necessitate any changes to transit, route information will be shared by Chapel Hill Transit and UNC Transportation and Parking.

Update: Skipper Bowles Drive
