Cha’ssem Anderson will assume the duties and responsibilities for the Associate Director for Transportation and Planning role, effective Monday, Nov. 4.

Anderson will be responsible for representation on regional and local committees, acting as a University/department liaison on policy and service development associated with transportation services. He will also manage the areas of Transportation Demand Management (TDM); Planning, Construction, and Sustainable Technology; Maintenance; and Point to Point (P2P) Services.

Anderson brings to the department nearly two decades of transportation and parking experience, most recently serving as the Transportation and Parking Services Director at North Carolina Central University since 2015. Prior to that, he served as a logistics analyst for Walt Disney World, a Transit Planner for the Fort Worth Transportation Authority, a Transit Service Planner for the Triangle Transit Authority and as a Transportation Planner for the Durham Area Transit Authority.

A member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), among other affiliations, Anderson holds a bachelor of science in geography and a master’s in geography and earth sciences from North Carolina Central University.
