A utility improvement project will require the closure of a segment of South Road beginning May 15, 2017, through Aug. 11, 2017. During this period, South Road will be closed to through traffic between UNC Student Stores and Raleigh Street. Please drive slowly and with caution, follow detour signs, and stay alert to temporary bus stop locations throughout the project. Pedestrians should remain alert to traffic changes and follow signage along South Road designating pedestrian reroutes.
The Student Stores and Fetzer Gym bus stops on South Road will be temporarily relocated during the project. Chapel Hill Transit and GoTriangle will make every attempt to maintain schedules, but riders should plan for delays due to rerouting.
Chapel Hill Transit will implement detours on the A, CCX, DX, FCX, FG, G, S, U and V routes. Visit Chapel Hill Transit for information on alternative stops and route detour maps.
GoTriangle routes 800, 800S, 805 and CRX will also be rerouted; please refer to GoTriangle for more information.
The Point-to-Point Express will follow the Summer Detour Schedule effective May 15.
