A formal notification was recently sent by the UNC One Card Office regarding the installation of new card readers at building entrances throughout campus beginning March 2023. There is no change to parking gate access at this time.
Gated parking facilities already have upgraded card readers, and permit holders with One Cards/Gate Cards issued within the last three years can utilize the tap or swipe option for activating the gate. Permit holders (including service and state vehicle) with cards older than three years old will continue to have the option to swipe the card to activate the gate until Aug. 15, 2023.
