Chelsea will meet Wrexham in Chapel Hill on the evening of Wednesday, July 19, as part of the 2023 FC Series. The stateside match will be the first neutral-site meeting of the two historic clubs. It will mark the first international soccer competition held at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan Stadium. Unified Events will host the event in partnership with Orlando, Florida-based Florida Citrus Sports. The Chapel Hill match is the first of the 2023 FC Series, an international soccer exhibition that grew from Florida Citrus Sports’ Florida Cup event.
Public parking is available for sale on the Carolina Athletics website. No parking is available for sale at parking lots on match day. Parking permits are not valid or allowed in the parking lots prior to 5:30 p.m. Permits are designated for specific lots and permit holders should follow directions for the best travel route.
Event permits may be printed or displayed on your phone and presented to the attendant for scanning.

Chapel Hill Transit provides the Tar Heel Express shuttle service from local Park and Ride lots and downtown Chapel Hill for this event. Tar Heel Express boarding passes are available on the Carolina Athletics website. No boarding passes are available for sale at park and ride locations on match day.

Shuttles will start at 5:30 p.m. and operate continuously until approximately 15 minutes after the start of the match. Shuttles operate for approximately 45 minutes following the match.
The pre-match drop-off and post-match pick-up location is along South Road in front of Carmichael Arena and Woollen Gym.
Public parking is available for sale on the Carolina Athletics website. No parking is available for sale at parking lots on match day. Accessibility permits are valid in the Manning Lot and must be accompanied by a valid state disability plate, placard, or permit. Pre-purchased Manning permits presented without an accompanying state accessibility plate, permit or placard WILL NOT be honored on match day. Alternative parking will not be provided.

Accessibility shuttles circulate through the Manning Lot and provide transport to Gate 6 of Kenan Stadium beginning 5:30 p.m. and operate until 15 minutes after the start of the match. Shuttles operate for approximately 45 minutes following the match. Emergency ride back is provided during the match by EMS request.
Ride share services including Uber and Lyft may drop and pick-up passengers along South Columbia bus lane between Manning Drive and South Road. In the interest of public safety and other operational concerns, other areas of campus have restricted traffic and road access and ride share services are not allowed.
Shuttle access to the stadium is available from the drop-off point via Carolina Livery from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 15 minutes after the start of the match. Return service will be via the Carolina Livery shuttles at Gate 6 until approximately 45 minutes after the end of the match.
Walking takes about seven minutes via the North Medical Drive sidewalk that connects to the pedestrian bridge which connects to level four of the Bell Tower Deck (elevators inside) and descend to ground level.

Normal daytime parking operations will be in effect for employees from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Employee Game Day Parking is reserved for employees reporting directly to work after 5 p.m. and not attending the match.
- Spaces are available in lots throughout campus for working employees who have valid campus parking permits or campus/hospital IDs.
- Employees that have a valid weekday or weeknight permit and need to report to work after 5 p.m. on game day can find parking in the following lots by presenting a valid campus or hospital ID for scanning:

- Porthole Lot
- Law Programs Lot
- Department Parking Coordinators may request parking permits that will be honored in assigned employee lots for temporary or permanent employees reporting for work who do not have a weekday or weeknight permit by using the Football Request Form.
Traffic is expected to be heavy from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., so plan accordingly when reporting to work. Please have your UNC One Card available to present to parking ambassadors for scanning.
The following parking areas are reserved for game operations and permit holders/parkers must relocate vehicles by 5 p.m.. Vehicles left in these lots after 5 p.m. will be relocated at the owner’s expense.
- Vehicles left in reserved lots will be relocated to the Bowles Lot.
- The cost for violating event parking restrictions is a $50 parking citation and a $90-$100 relocation fee. Owners may retrieve vehicles directly from the lots without completing any paperwork.

To reduce campus traffic, match patrons may want to consider planning their routes in advance and using the route suggestions provided for the pre-purchased permit locations.
Park and Ride is a viable alternative for those who choose to pre-purchase boarding passes.
Please heed the signs and directions given by traffic and parking personnel.
Some campus roads are restricted to manage traffic and stadium access prior to and following games. Only emergency vehicles, buses, and patrons with a permits within the restricted area are allowed access.

- Will there be impacts to employee parking during normal daytime permit hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.?
- There will be no impacts to employee parking and employees should park in their assigned permit lots during normal daytime permit hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Where should employees who must report to work after 5 p.m. park?
- Employees who must report to work after 5 p.m. should park in designated employee game day lots.
- Should employees who park on campus during the day and will remain on campus after 5 p.m., either for work or the game, relocate their vehicles if they park in an area used for event parking?
